Membership

 Who can be a member?

We welcome new members. Anyone who works in or who has an interest in Canadian Government Finance may become a “Member”, whether you are a practitioner, auditor, consultant or supplier.

What is the cost?

There is no charge for membership.

What are the benefits of membership?

Members get to participate in shaping the organization by completing surveys, voting for the board of Directors and participating in networking groups. You will also be eligible for member offers and have the option of receiving weekly notifications of job postings.

What if I am already a member of another organization?

We work closely with all the other associations that also serve Government Finance Officers in the public service. We complement rather than compete with them and most of our members are also members of their provincial and international associations.

How do I become a member?

To become a member, you must apply and be approved by the board. Simply email office@cagfo.ca and write  “I wish to become a member of CAGFO” in the subject line. Make sure you include full name, organization and position (Your signature block is fine).

 Who else is a member?

We currently have 1,811 members from across Canada. The lists below show members in alphabetical order and by organization.

City Liaisons Program

 What is the Liaison Program?

In order to operate effectively, CAGFO needs an up-to-date database of the government finance officers in Canada. CAGFO currently has about 4,000 people on its database; 40% of are members and 60% have subscribed to regular email communication. The City Liaisons Program allows us to keep our database up-to-date, so that we can stay in touch with members and supporters. We aim to have a liaison in each of the 100 largest municipalities in Canada.

What does the Liaison person do?

There are three main tasks which each Liaison performs, the first is expected and the other two are optional:

1. Ensure the accuracy of the CAGFO database at an organization level. Once a quarter, each Liaison will receive from CAGFO a copy of subscribers and members for their organization for confirmation and updating.
2. Invite the people on the list that are not already members to join the association. Membership is free and not tied to an organization, but to the individual.
3. Inform the person responsible for hiring Finance Professionals in the organization. that they can post vacant positions simultaneously on the CAGFO job board and CivicJobs.ca for just $250.

Who are the Liaisons?

The list below shows the largest 100 municipalities in Canada and together with the name of the Liaison person. If your municipality does not have anyone assigned, please feel free to volunteer by emailing office@cagfo.ca.

Member Surveys

Members have a say in what we do.
