What CAGFO needs from you? The Board needs a diverse group of people stemming from the financial sector with qualities including strong leadership skills; strategic thinking; and practical thinkers. You must be a CAGFO member who is in good standing with the organization. Not a member yet? Apply here: https://cagfo.ca/apply-for-membership/ Directors must be able to commit the time and energy required for a one-year term, with potential of extension. The time commitment can be approximately 2-5 hours/month, depending on your commitment to various committees. Check with CAGFO for term length. *

Governance

Members of any Board of Directors are expected to behave in a professional manner when representing that Board. Please note the following expectations. By submitting your application, you are agreeing to the terms of these expectations.

Expectations:

At the beginning of each Board meeting, you will be asked to disclose any conflicts of interest.
You will also be asked to sign CAGFO’s Code of Ethics at the beginning of your term.
You are expected to attend the virtual on-boarding session at a time that works for you.
You are expected to attend at least one virtual Board meeting per month.
Committee meetings also take place usually for one hour per month during the work week and are scheduled on an ad hoc basis.
As meetings do take place during the workday, we expect that you will have the support of your immediate supervisor.
You will attend and actively participate in at least 10 monthly Board meetings per year.
You will serve on at least one committee and attend at least 85% of the monthly meetings.
You will be required to attend the Annual Conference (in person).
